The Wildlife Division has started a community initiative in Kue. Visitors can take a village walk with a community guide, hike to the shrine inside the Park or along the Kue River. Visitors can stay overnight at the community run guesthouse, campsite or at the platform near the shrine. In the evening visitors can also enjoy cultural events by the unique Kotokoli tribe, which originates from Togo.
Further community initiatives have started at Kyllinga, Odome and Shiare villages. The income from visitors to these places directly improves the livelihoods of local people.
When to visit
It is possible to visit the Park all year round, but it can be wet in the rainy season (June-October) and one should be prepared for a downpour. Best times are before and after the Harmattan (October-December and March-May). Plan your activities for the early morning or late afternoon, when it is cool and pleasant.
