Kyabobo National Park

Recently established, Kyabobo National Park offers a wide range of adventure activities and cultural attractions in Ghana’s Northern Volta Region.

Be one with natural and wild beauty. You can hike, mountain bike, camp, canoe, visit mountain communities, and stay in homestay settings in pretty villages. Its a full package that this wonderful area offers.

Own Vehicle
Driving to Kyabobo takes 6 hours (approximately 330 km) on the main road from Accra, or 4-5 hours (235 km) from Ho: the last 60 km is on a dirt road. From Tamale it is approximately 4 hours (260 km), via Yendi and Bimbila, but most of the road is unpaved and in the rainy season the trip will take longer.

The road via Nkwanta can be a good alternative to the busy Accra-Kumasi-Tamale road and the trip takes around 10 hours in total. Virtually no roads exist inside the Park.

Public Transport
There is a direct Trotro from Accra to Nkwanta (and vice versa). Coming from Tamale you have to change in Bimbila, and often in Yendi as well. Mole to Kyabobo is usually not possible in one day: you may have to stay overnight in one of the towns along the way

Taxis
Taxis are available in Nkwanta for trips to the Park Head Quarters and surrounding villages. Mountain bikes can also be rented at the Park Head Quarters.
