Perhaps one of the easiest and most rewarding hikes in the Park is along the Kue River. From Kue village you walk to the river crossing. On market days you will see people entering Ghana from Togo, with their bicycles and goods wading through the river. Walking upstream (3a) you enter an area that is very unlike Ghana, offering nice views into Togo. During the walk you can constantly hear the river, and the old riverine forest gives you good opportunities to see birds, and perhaps animals such as Duiker, Waterbuck, Bushbuck or even Buffalo.
The adventurous may like to follow the river for a full day to the 7th crossing (3b). You will cross the stream seven times (bring sandals!), walk through Togo and climb a ridge overlooking the river. There is a beautiful wilderness campsite at the 7th River Crossing, with rapids and a deep pool that is ideal for swimming.
